Halo Reach Gameplay Video

Postby HasHasu » Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:14 pm

As someone who feels each Halo game has progressively gotten worse, this one actually looks somewhat promising. Although it doesn't look like a totally new game, it appears to be faster-paced with much more weapon/item variety. I'm intrigued :) looks like it may not be another game of snipe/rifle/grenade!

Nah, XBox LANs are uniquely fun and entertaining (and much easier to manage!) :) I miss having them more often =/

Unfortunately I just noticed in this video it looks like weapon recoil affects accuracy (aiming reticule gets bigger) for ballistic weapons. I really hope that's not the case :(

Yeah, because you know, recoil doesn't affect accuracy normally.... :P

I know you made the ":P" face, but seriously the thought of pulling the realism card makes me want to punch a wall =/

If I want random luck factored into my accuracy i'll play one of the dozen tactical shooters that comes out ever year >.<

I know! One more variable in shooting in a new game would totally ruin any hopes of good gameplay for me!

I've always explained it Canonically by it being Master Chief. A guy that can rip a hole in a tank doesn't worry much about gun recoil.

Hopefully though this will limit the number of snipers who just spam shots.

Also, SPRINT. Holy God, Finally.

Ok, I have a question then. What if they left recoil alone but added projectile flight time, so you'd actually have to lead your target and judge distance on the fly. (i'll even assume that bullets fly perfectly straight...)

Would you have a problem with that? It would still be accurate, but require another dimension of skill.

That's already in Halo 3 (for some weapons, BR included) and I don't mind it at all :) I like it a lot actually.

Most games you have to do that with things like rocket launchers. TF2 and soldier, CoD4 and RPG (less so)...then there's the Fallout 3 system. Suffice to say that adding a new dimension to gameplay does not necessarily mean that it's worse.
