You can get HLSW from here

http://www.hlsw.org

  • Install it
  • Put in the IP address and port of the game you want to join
  • Right click on the listing and hit connect...
  • Hold onto your pants!

When you want to join that server again all you have to do is right click and hit connect...
Holding onto you pants is optional.

Its just that easy!

For questions PM me and I will help you out.

Um, isn't that what Xfire is for? Returning to your fav. servers? Or is this something different?

xfire is for keeping track of your gaming buddies and joining the servers they are in. Xfire is player based whereas HLSW is server based.

I don't mean to sound like I know everything (what a way to start a sentence, ne?), but I can direct join servers from Xfire -- I have a list of my Favs, and just click \"join.\"

But hey, different strokes for differet folks, I suppose. Though I'm sure there are some games I don't play that Xfire doesn't support...

Yeah you can definately do that but HLSW tells you more info about the servers. Also if you are an admin type person, it alows you remote RCON access.

I think chicken was using this at madlan to see what servers are up. The All Seeing Eye does the same thing though.

yeah it was great for seeing all the servers at the lan. Auto detects all game servers on lan and gives me all the info. Easy to see how many people were playing what at any time.

Does this scan for games out of subnet? aka if your ip is 192.168.1.100 would it be able to scan in say 192.168.0.xxx or 192.168.xxx.xxx because if so it could be a useful tool for finding other lan games on the campus network, and chances are, if theres lan games being run on the campus network that people are playing them, could be an interesting advertising opportunity, besides the obvious use of just finding other msu gamers.

yeah it does :) just select lan from the list and it scans all games on the subnet! Easily find lan games around you.
