I can't say that I don't want to go, I just feel that It would be prohibitively expensive to find my way down there, etc. SO... Who's up for carpooling 1,166 miles and splitting the approx $250 gas bill?

Seems unrealistic for me. I'd be interested in carpooling, but we're looking at a good 5 or 6 hundred dollars when you figure in food and hotel costs...Seems kinda pricey to me...

Who needs a hotel when you can crash at the lan, or can't you? Besides a buch could always split a room or something.

Cost is pretty small no matter what if you divide it up.

The real hurdle is the ~20 hours or so it takes to get there.

You guys have a good point. Well I suppose I can't vouch that I'll have the money for sure, but it isn't until August so it wouldn't be hard to put aside the money from a summer income. I'd be interested in driving straight through and crashing at the lan.

Psh, I worked hard for these luxuries. Maybe if you guys get really good, talk to mainLine gaming, they're looking for 1-2 quakeplayers to send to QuakeCON and have a couple extra rooms.

they play everything, the tournaments are sic, the place is swag heaven and the hotel is really nice. If you stay at the hotel, 4person to a room and drive in one big assed van or something it ends up being about $350 a person with everything all in.
